In 1955, Gaston Ries and René Bannwart decided to transform their small watch fabric private label into a watch manufacture.

One year later, the first watches appear on the market. The « Corum key » is the logo of the brand, which appears for example as counterweight on the watch hand of the seconds of the Admiral’s Cup model.

In 2000, Severin Wunderman becomes the owner of the company. With his son, Michael Wundermann, appointed chairman of the company in 2004, they have given a second youth to the brand.

On August 18, 2008 , Corum announces the appointment of Serge Weinberg as Chairman of the board of directors of the company. As such, he resumes the position of Severin Wundermann, who passed away on June 25, 2008 at 69. The latter had acquired and managed the Corum group since 2000.
