Gerald Genta

Inventive and non-conventional, the Gérald Genta brand is founded in 1969. Pursuing always in the same spirit, the Gérald Genta collections continue to shake up the traditionally discreet and classical fine watchmaking world.

In 1979, the company receives the prestigious and coveted « Geneva Seal », symbol of excellence and of perfection in the top of the range movements.

In 2000, Gérald Genta SA joins the Bulgari group. Today, Gérald Genta is the unique brand of fine matchmaking which proposes exclusively complicated movements combined with an avant-gardist design.

By using innovative materials, a clever technology and movements with great complications, it accompanies day by day, the cosmopolitan, unconventional watch lovers.

The Gérald Genta company is located both in Geneva and in the village of Sentier, in the heart of the Joux Valley, where a team of very experienced matchmakers and technicians combine artisanal skill and avant-garde technology to develop and produce all types of movements with complications.

The first pocket Great Ring with three gavels and perpetual calendar is developed in 1973.

In 1994, to celebrate a quarter-century of prestige watchmaking and after 5 years of research and development, Gérald Genta presents for the first time his Great Ring: the most complex wristwatch in the world, which gathers together in a few cubic centimeters more than 1000 extremely sophisticated   components which combine:

* a Tourbillon movement with an automatic or manual winding

* the automatic or manual winding of the carillon

* a Westminster carillon with four gavels, with small and big carillon or silence function

* a minute repeater

* a double display of the power-reserve: of the movement and of the ringing reserve

* the possibility to add to it a perpetual calendar with moon phases or a second time zone.

* the waterproofness at 3 Atm

In 1996 Gérald Genta introduces the Retro and Bi-Retro movements, symbols of creativity.

For the first time in the history of watchmaking two complications are combined on the same dial: jumping hour and retrograde minutes for the Retro and jumping hour with retrograde minutes and date for the Bi-Retro.
