Pomellato
The history of Pomellato begins in 1967, in Milano, when Pino Rabolini launches the idea to create « jewels different to live and to wear ». Son of a merchant of precious stones, he thinks that the renowned silversmiths are cruelly lacking boldness. He dreams of gems of all sorts of colours for fancy and contemporary ornaments that women would wear as fashion accessories. Thus, the Pomellato collections adopt the rhythm of the ready-to-wear. In addition, each launch is relayed by an advertising campaign shot by Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts or Horst P. Horst.
At the end of the 80s, Pomellato is the trendy jeweler. Building on the success, his founder multiplies the creations as well as the boutiques. The saga sets out again during the years 2000, with a fantastic creativity the new Pomellato lines are daring: the Veleno pendants look like great drops of poison held by huge claws; the Duna rings are like mother-of-pearl shells embroidered with a shower of cognac brilliants. The inlay of the Harem jewels associates amethysts, rhodolites and rock crystal on pink gold…
For 40 years, the Italian jeweler plays with coloured stones and diamonds with boldness, sensuality and modernism, to create irresistible jewels: semi-precious stones such as the tourmaline, the pink quartz, aquamarine…
